It is distributed in the Sea of ​​Japan, Hokkaido, the Pacific coast of the Tohoku region, and Sakhalin. It inhabits the seabed with a water depth of about 200m to 500m. It grows to a body length of about 15 cm. Has thorns on the forehead. Male precocious sex change. It is distributed under the names of shrimp and prawns and is edible.
